The Truth About Alternative Energy - A Note
The Truth About Alternative Energy - A Note
Regardless of the energy crisis non-renewable or fossil fuels are still the main focus in energy matters. Any deep thinking will show that solar power is really the most fundamental of all energy sources. Causes behind this supposition is that all other forms of power are created as an effect of the sun. The focus of this post will be on information directly linked to alternative fuel sources and associated technologies. Go here for more wind power generators information.

Writing About Clothes
Writing About Clothes
Two of your favorite things are and writing. While you could take the traditional route and intern for a designer clothes costa mesa magazine like Elle or Vogue, why not try something different and start your own designer clothes costa mesa magazine as a hobby?
Now, keep in mind that this does not have to be one of those publications that has glossy photos or anything like that. This can be as simple or as ornate as you would like it to be, depending on the fund that you would like to spend on your magazine.

Air Saftey in the time of Terrorism
Air Saftey in the time of Terrorism
The Vision 100 Century of Aviation Reauthorization Act requires air carriers providing scheduled passenger air transportation to conduct basic security training for their flight and cabin crewmembers in order to prepare them for potential threat conditions that may occur onboard an aircraft. The Act further requires the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to develop and make available to flight and cabin crewmembers an advanced self defense weapons training program that includes appropriate and effective responses for defending against an attacker.
Administered by the TSA Office of Law Enforcement / Federal Air Marshal Service, the Crew Member self defense weapons Training (CMSDT) program is available to any actively employed flight or cabin crew member. The program is delivered in two parts. First, the crew member receives and reviews a self-paced, interactive DVD and student manual designed to familiarize them with basic self defense weapons concepts and techniques. After completing the review and a short written assessment, the crew member attends one day of hands-on training at a participating community college.

Visa or MasterCard?
Visa or MasterCard?
Both cards are usually accepted everywhere but there are still places where some business line of credit cards are not accepted. If all other factors are equal, it probably wouldn’t be advantageous to compare building business credit cards between Visa and MasterCard, because one or the other is usually accepted.

How can Family and Friends Help with Drug Rehab?
How can Family and Friends Help with Drug Rehab?
How Can Family and Friends Help with Recovery from the Substance Abuse?
They need to learn to stop enabling. Enabling is acting in ways that essentially help or encourage the person to maintain their habit of drinking or getting high. For instance, a woman whose husband routinely drinks too much, might call in sick for him when he is too drunk to go to work. Thats enabling. Likewise, family members or friends might give an addict money which is used to buy drugs, because theyre either sorry for him or afraid of him. Thats enabling also.
When family and friends participate in the recovery program, they learn how to stop enabling. If they act on what theyve learned, the recovering substance abuser is much less likely to relapse into drinking or taking drugs.
How Can Family and Friends Help with Recovery from a Psychiatric Condition?
They should be calm and understanding, rather than frightened or critical. They should be warm and open, rather than cool or cautious. Although it is fine to ask the person matter-of-factly about the psychiatric relationship problems Los Angeles, that shouldnt be the only focus of conversation.

A Diet is Doomed!
A Diet is Doomed!
You see, the very concept of a weight loss diet is doomed to fail. Why? Diets are based in a temporary mindset. The fact that someone goes on a free diet plans diet means they will have to come off of the diet. This is temporarywhy force yourself to lose 10 pounds when youre just going to gain it back and then some when you go off of the diet? That may sound simple, but most people just dont get itthey look to diets as the answer to their weight and health problems. But theyre not the answer, and they actually create more problems for you. People who are regular dieters don’t burn fat over the long haul.

Evaluation of the safety and durability of low-cost nonprogrammable electric powered wheelchairs
Evaluation of the safety and durability of low-cost nonprogrammable electric powered wheelchairs
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate whether a selection of low-cost, nonprogrammable electric-medicare power wheelchairs (EPWs) and medical scooters meets the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) Wheelchair Standards requirements. DESIGN: Objective comparison tests of various aspects of power wheelchair design and performance of 4 EPW types. SPECIMENS: Three of each of the following EPWs: Pride Mobility Jet 10 (Pride), Invacare Pronto M50 (Invacare), Electric Mobility Rascal 250PC (Electric Mobility), and the Golden Technologies Alant GP-201-F (Golden). SETTING: Rehabilitation engineering research center. INTERVENTIONS: Not applicable. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Static tipping angle; dynamic tipping score; braking distance; energy consumption; climatic conditioning; power and control systems integrity and safety; and static, impact, and fatigue life (equivalent cycles). RESULTS: Static tipping angle and dynamic tipping score were significantly different across manufacturers for each tipping direction (range, 6.6 degrees-35.6 degrees). Braking distances were significantly different across manufacturers (range, 7.4-117.3 cm). Significant differences among groups were found with analysis of variance (ANOVA). Energy consumption results show that all EPWs can travel over 17 km before the battery is expected to be exhausted under idealized conditions (range, 18.2-32.0 km). Significant differences among groups were found with ANOVA. All EPWs passed the climatic conditioning tests. Several adverse responses were found during the power and control systems testing, including motors smoking during the stalling condition (Electric Mobility), charger safety issues (Electric Mobility, Invacare), and controller failures (Golden). All EPWs passed static and impact testing; 9 of 12 failed fatigue testing (3 Invacare, 3 Golden, 1 Electric Mobility, 2 Pride). Equivalent cycles did not differ statistically across manufacturers (range, 9759-824,628 cycles). CONCLUSIONS: Large variability in the results, especially with respect to static tipping, power and control system failures, and fatigue life suggest design improvements must be made to make these low-cost, nonprogrammable EPWs safe and reliable for the consumer. Based on our results, these EPWs do not, in general, meet the ANSI/RESNA Wheelchair Standards requirements.

Next generation autonomous wheelchair control
Next generation autonomous wheelchair control
Often times the physically challenged, limited to a medicare power wheelchairs, also have difficulty with vision. In order to help, something must “see” for them. Therefore there must be some way for a wheelchair to know its environment, sense where it is, and where it must go. It also must be able to avoid any obstacles which are not normally part of the environment. An autonomous wheelchair will serve an important role by allowing users more freedom and independence. This design challenge is broken into four major steps: wheelchair control, environment recognition, route planning, and obstacle avoidance. The first step is to reverse engineer a wheelchair and rebuild the controls, which will be the main topic of discussion for this paper. Two big challenges with this step are high handicap scooters control and joystick control. An H-bridge motor interface, controlled by a microprocessor, was designed for the motors. The joystick control is handled with the same microprocessor.
